Attila Gyenesei studied Computer Science and Economics in Hungary. After gaining master of science degree he moved to Finland. He accomplished his PhD programme at University of Turku. He specialized in Computer Science, especially mathematics, algorithm theory and data mining. In 2013 he got Docent in Bioinformatics at University of Turku. Attila Gyenesei studied Computer Science and Economics in Hungary. After gaining master of science degree he moved to Finland. He accomplished his PhD programme at University of Turku. He specialized in Computer Science, especially mathematics, algorithm theory and data mining. In 2013 he got Docent in Bioinformatics at University of Turku. He now works as a Head of the Bioinformatics & Scientific Computing Core Facility, Campus Science Support Facilities (CSF), Vienna Biocenter, Vienna, Austria. He is now supervising Ph.D. and M.Sc. students. He is actively developing novel methods and tools for the analysis of high-throughput, especially microarray and next-generation sequencing data. He is leading a bioinformatics group that provides extensive high-throughput data analysis services for various microarray and next-generation sequencing applications, strong and wide experience in programming and script languages, database systems and statistical tools: JAVA, Perl, Python, MATLAB, R, SQL, SAS, SPSS.
